Story of famous Temple- Triyuginarayan Photos

TRIYUGINARAYAN temple is an ancient temple dedicated to lord Vishnu , located in Triyuginarayan village of Rudraprayag district . The fame of the temple is credited to the god Shiva’s and goddess Parvati marriage witnessed by lord vishnu. Triyuginarayan word is made up of three words, ‘TRI” which means three, “YUGI” which means era or a particular time period and “NARAYAN” which is another name of lord VISHNU.


History of Triyuginarayan temple- According to Hindu mythology the goddess Parvati (daughter of hemvant) was married to the legends of god the SHIVA ,lord Vishnu formalized the wedding and acted as Parvati’s brother in the ceremonies, while the lord brahma acted as the priest of the wedding. BRAHM SHILA in front of the temple is the exact location of weddingthe HAWAN KUND which was used in shiv-parvati marriage is still burning and the ashes is carried by the pilgrims . There are three small ponds also called as KUND named brahm kund , rudra kund and vishnu kund.
